MFG Day 2019

Manufacturing Day was a great success!

Thank you to all the schools and companies that helped showcase the numerous manufacturing possibilities in Indiana.

We welcomed in 1,200 high school students to showcase the incredible career opportunities currently available in manufacturing along with several other phenomenal central Indiana partners.

Students were able to experience manufacturing up close and personal including 3D manufacturing, robotics, virtual reality, and much more.

Manufacturing in Indiana makes up 1/3rd of the state’s economy, with the average worker in Indiana making $77,573 annually.

Thank you again to all the volunteers and participants that made this incredible event possible.

Major Tool & Machine Partners with Vincennes University for INFAME Program

Major Tool & Machine is proud to partner with Vincennes University to establish the second Indiana Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (INFAME) initiative in the state.

The first class of students is expected to start in Fall 2020. Students will be trained in automation, robotics, and other aspects of advanced manufacturing.

The program, which will be based at the University’s Aviation Technology Center at Indianapolis International Airport, will be the first of its kind in Central Indiana and only the second Indiana Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (INFAME) initiative in the state. The Central Indiana INFAME chapter includes many leading employers in the Indianapolis area, including Eli Lilly; Major Tool & Machine; Steel Dynamics, Inc.; and 3M.
